We wait, because the skin can tell.

Vellume is one farm, one lab, and one quiet promise, to make the smallest amount of the best thing we know how to make, and to stop there.

Forty days of cold-cure

A tallow that finishes in seven days is a tallow that hasn't finished. We wait six weeks.

Industrial tallow is rendered hot and stabilised fast. Ours is rendered low, decanted by hand, and left to cure in shallow stoneware for forty days. The fatty-acid lattice settles. The water phase releases. What's left is a fat that reads like skin.

We measured. Cold-cured batches retain 38% more linoleic acid integrity at week six than seven-day batches at week one. The number isn't the point. The point is that we waited long enough to measure it.

One farm, forty cows

Everything in Vellume can be traced back to a pasture you could walk.

The tallow comes from a single grass-fed herd in the Mad River Valley. Forty cows, one farmer, one chest freezer, one render. There is no commodity supply chain behind the jar, there is a barn, and a phone number, and a name.

We won't outgrow the farm. When the herd is at capacity, we stop taking pre-orders. The shelf goes empty for a few weeks. We say so on the homepage. The brand pays the cost of the constraint so the formula doesn't.

Copper, stabilised the slow way

GHK-Cu is the molecule we trust. Stabilising it is the work we won't shortcut.

Copper tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu) is the most-studied skin signalling peptide we know of, collagen-supportive, anti-inflammatory, well-tolerated. It also degrades fast in the wrong base. Most formulas hide that with fragrance and flow agents.

We hold ours at 0.15% in a tallow + honey matrix, blended cold, packaged in opaque amber, and shipped within forty-eight hours of fill. The stability chart on each batch shows what's in your jar at week one, week eight, and week sixteen. If it drifts, we say so.

I.
What we won't do

No fragrance, no synthetic dyes, no fillers, no influencer scripts, no rebrands every eighteen months. The jar from 2026 will read like the jar from 2036.

II.
What we will say

The batch number. The cure date. The actual percentage of every active. The farmer's name. The stability chart. The mistakes that retired a batch.

III.
Who it's for

People whose skin remembers, at thirty-five, forty-five, fifty-five, sixty-five. People who'd rather pay once for the right jar than four times for the wrong one.

"If a batch isn't right, it doesn't ship. If a jar isn't right, send it back inside sixty nights. We'll keep the trouble of being slow if you'll trust the cost of being honest."
